Our Programs
Quality educational programs guide children’s learning and development.
Educators collaborate in designing programs that enable children and families to achieve optimal learning and developmental outcomes for children. The educational program is based on knowledge of each child so that interactions, experiences, routines, and events that each child engages in are relevant to them, respectful of their background and recognise and build on their current strengths, abilities and interests.
Fruit First
The Preschool encourage children to lead a healthy active lifestyle. This is complemented in our daily routine by a Fruit First approach at morning tea time.
All cooking experiences encourage children to eat healthy, recipes are shared with families and friends.
School Readiness
Munch and Move is a healthy lifestyle program for children from 0-5 years. The program focuses on supporting the development of Fundamental Movement Skills through game based active play, encourages healthy eating and reduced time spent on small screen recreation (TV, computers, DVD's).
Music and Movement
Singing and dancing is great fun and a great way to improve concentration, coordination, balance, spatial awareness and communication.
A professional music teacher guides our curriculum and has assisted in our winning performances for the last two years at the local eisteddfod.
Speech and Language
A speech therapist works closely with the preschool children and Educators. A program has been developed to introduce children to phonological awareness in a play based setting.
Small groups of children work with the speech therapist in a quiet setting. It is a time to develop language and speech skills that will assist in later reading and writing.
The Girinya Program
The Girinya program is facilitated by a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and preschool Educator that focuses on building strong foundations in sensory, motor and social-emotional development that unlock the capacity for higher level function such as the skills necessary for participation in the home (e.g. dressing), preschool (e.g. drawing) and community environments.
The Early Years Learning Framework
The Framework assists educators to provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning.
Fundamental to the Framework is the view of children's lives being characterised by belonging, being and becoming.
